RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a variety of land acquisition duties in support of the EYNF Lands Management Program
- Conduct electronic filing and review case files for completeness and accuracy
- Prepare and analyze land acquisition forms and legal documents
- Coordinate with partners and stakeholders involved in land acquisition activities
- Study and synthesize current research and reports related to land transactions
- Draft and edit memoranda, research reports, and case-related correspondence
- Exercise independent judgment when researching, summarizing related cases/case law, and providing legal references
- Enter data into government databases in compliance with security and cyber-security requirements
- Follow procedures to protect government property, equipment, and information systems
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Knowledgeable in secretarial duties
- Knowledgeable in understanding legal terms and practice
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
BACKGROUND
- Experience in a legal office environment preferred
- A valid driver’s license required
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
