ROLE
We are seeking a Medical Materiel Technician to support the 36th Medical Group at Andersen Air Force Base in Yigo, Guam. In this role, you will provide warehouse and logistics expertise for the War Reserve Materiel (WRM) program, ensuring medical assets are properly received, stored, inventoried, and shipped in support of daily operations, contingency missions, and exercises across the Indo-Pacific (INDOPACIFIC) region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Receiving
  • Verify shipments by matching item identification, stock numbers, codes, quantities, or units of issue
  • Unload containers, scan bar codes, and record receipt information in automated systems
II. Storage
  • Store, stack, palletize, and rotate items based on use, size, shape, quantity, and handling needs
  • Match and compare data on storage instruments against materiel in designated locations
III. Shipping
  • Select and assemble items for shipment according to priority, materiel type, transport mode, and destination
  • Issue and document outgoing shipments in line with transaction requirements
IV. Equipment Operation & Safety
  • Operate automated materiel handling equipment such as stock selectors and retrieval vehicles
  • Move, load, unload, bin, and position materiel using automated and electromechanical systems
  • Use tools and equipment safely in performing materiel handling tasks
  • Follow safety practices and comply with established regulations
V. Records & Inventory Management
  • Maintain electronic records and documentation for all materiel transactions
  • Conduct inventories to ensure assets in Medical War Reserve Materiel (WRM) standards are accounted for
  • Manage storage of WRM assets and maintain approved assemblage levels
  • Execute annual and cyclical inventories using packing lists, mass updates, and accuracy reports
  • Apply special handling for controlled items, gases, precious metals, hazardous materials, and refrigerated or frozen materiel
  • Provide inventory documentation to the WRM Project Officer for approval
  • Develop and analyze metrics to track program requirements and identify improvements
  • Support audits by providing inventory data, labor, and life support for on-site reviews
VI. Program Support
  • Brief the Medical Readiness Committee (MRC) on materiel status for contingency projects
  • Perform self-inspections of WRM activities in accordance with Department of the Air Force Instruction (DAFI) 41-230 and Technical Order (TO) 13C7-34-2-1-WA-1
  • Maintain the shelf-life extension program for WRM assets
  • Incorporate approved changes and updates into existing WRM assemblages
  • Conduct pallet build-up including hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and contingency or disaster response taskings
  • Create and maintain WRM continuity folders in accordance with TO 13C7-34-2-1-WA-1
  • Assist the Medical Logistics Flight Commander with the WRM/Mission Capable-Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (MC-CBRN) program
  • VII. Administrative
  • Submit Defense Medical Human Resources System internet (DMHRSi) timecards on schedule as directed

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Knowledge of computer applications/software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.) and internet familiarity
  • Strong organization, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Capable of lifting 65 pounds

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in logistics Management or equivalent, Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) System, and project management

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one before starting work required

  • U.S. citizenship is required as it supports the U.S. federal government
  • Have or be able to obtain a Security Clearance prior to start of work required

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
