We are seeking a Legal Support Specialist to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia (USAO NDGA) in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) in the Civil Division by managing legal and administrative casework, organizing filings and case materials, and helping keep discovery, trial preparation, and day-to-day litigation support activities on track.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) with day-to-day civil litigation and legal administrative work
- Manage incoming and outgoing discovery materials in both electronic and paper formats
- Review, organize, code, tag, and filter case documents for relevance and substance
- Use Automated Litigation Support (ALS) tools to locate, organize, analyze, and present case information
- Prepare/format legal docs such as complaints, motions, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests, & discovery responses
- Verify legal citations and statutory references for accuracy and consistency
- Draft routine legal correspondence and transmittal letters using proper legal terminology and format
- Communicate professionally with agency partners, Main Justice, and other stakeholders regarding cases
- Produce timelines, deposition summaries, reports, charts, tables, and other litigation support materials
- Assist with trial prep by organizing case files, compiling trial notebooks, and preparing witness and exhibit materials
- File documents with the court and maintain accurate case records in electronic and physical files
- Open, update, and close cases in the automated case tracking system and other databases
- Track filing dates, hearings, trials, deadlines, and other case milestones for assigned matters
- Maintain attorney calendars and coordinate appointments, interviews, conferences, and depositions
- Arrange travel and prepare travel authorizations, vouchers, and reimbursement documentation
- Review invoices, support litigation-related budget tracking, and submit documentation for payment
- Provide office support by handling calls, assisting visitors, furnishing case status info, and routing matters appropriately
- Save pleadings, correspondence, and related materials to official case files and notify agency counsel of new filings
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in Automated Litigation Support (ALS) software applications
- Ability to make responsible decisions on short notice and adapt to unexpected developments
- Physically located within the general geographic commuting radius of the USAO office
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience performing legal administrative and litigation support duties similar to those described
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A four-year undergraduate degree preferred
- Paralegal certification preferred
