RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support AUSAs in the Civil Division with civil cases filed against the federal government
- Organize case materials, track court-imposed deadlines, and support day-to-day case management
- Review, sort, and organize large volumes of emails, records, and other case-related documents
- Create, maintain, and use spreadsheets and databases to track case information and litigation materials
- Gather factual information and supporting materials, including agency records, court records, and public records
- Read, analyze, and summarize pleadings, court orders, transcripts, case files, and other factual materials
- Draft memoranda and other written materials to support attorney review and case preparation
- Coordinate with federal agencies to locate, organize, and manage information needed for litigation
- Help ensure case materials and agency records are organized in support of court order compliance
- Conduct factual, legal, and specialized research as needed for civil litigation matters
- Prepare pleadings, exhibits, charts, visual materials, and other documents for briefs, presentations, and hearings
- Provide automated litigation support using software applications, scanners, and related litigation support tools
- Assist with exhibit preparation, including marking exhibits, enlarging charts or photographs, and duplicating media
- Provide related paralegal and litigation support duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Strong writing and computer skills required
- High attention to detail and work ethic required
EXPERIENCE
- Relevant legal, paralegal, litigation support, or case support experience required
- Experience reviewing large quantities of documents preferred
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A four-year undergraduate degree preferred
- Paralegal certification preferred
